Book 33: Vicious

Book: Vicious by V.E. Schwab

Goal Progress: 33/52 books , 7/12 books I already own
Rating: 5/5

I’m going to try and be less stingy with 5 star ratings. I read the first half of this last fall and I just pushed off the rest of it until I could give the book the attention it deserved, apparently I don’t ever carve out time to just sit down and focus on a book so after my 2nd final renewal at the library I decided to finally finish it. And was it ever worth it. I was immediately sucked back in and just flew through the last half of the book. This is just the kind of characters and writing that I enjoy.

Book 31: The Shameless Hour

Book: The Shameless Hour by Sarina Bowen
Source: Bought to read
Goal Progress: 31/52 books , 6/12 books I already own
Rating: 3/5

This is probably my least favourite book in the series, but that’s what I said about The Understatement Of The Year and quickly did a 180 on that statement the second read through. So maybe I’ll like it more later? It was just ok, I did not like the pet names that came up towards to end though. Yeesh. They got a little too sappy around each other for my liking.

Book 30: Mr. Kiss and Tell

Books: Mr. Kiss and Tell by Rob Thomas
Source: Borrowed from Library
Goal Progress: 30/52 books , 6/12 books I already own
Rating: 2.5/5

It was ok. But Veronica was a bit of a bitch to Logan. She postponed going to Seattle with him to waste her time on Lamb for case that still took months to resolve? Not ok. Got a little bored with the mystery, too. Could have been better.

Rating: 4/5

(Rereads) Nothing makes me feel like I want to go university more than these books. They’re just so real. And I loved them just as much the second time around. Where is number 4?!?!?!

I did like The Understatement of the Year far more this time around. 4/5.

Book 26: Fall for Anything

Books: Fall for Anything by Courtney Summers
Source: Owned
Goal Progress: 26/52 books , 3/12 books I already own
Rating: 3/5

What a harsh ending. Other than that, I feel the same way as I did about the rest of Courtney Summers books. But of course, I will keep reading, I want to find a book of hers that I absolutely love.

Book 25: To Kill a Mockingbird

Books: To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
Source: Owned
Goal Progress: 25/52 books , 2/12 books I already own
Rating: 3/5

I missed out on reading this book in high school and I know nothing about it so I wasn’t sure what to expect. The blurb on the back really threw me for a loop because it says “Harper Lee always considered her book to be a simple love story.”  What the what? And I guess I sort of get the love story part when I read the last page. I had a bit of a hard time getting through the book, but looking back, I did enjoy the story.

Book 24: Something Real

Books: Something Real by Heather Demetrios
Source: Borrowed from Library
Goal Progress: 24/52 books , 1/12 books I already own
Rating: 4/5

I really liked this. Not quite as good as I’ll Meet You There but still amazing and especially for a book that I thought was going to be a big fluff piece. Patrick is basically my idea of an ideal book boyfriend, none of this oh-so-hot stalker business. Also her brother Benny and his relationship with Matt was the best. Thinking about this book just makes me want to read it again 🙂

Book 23: Some Girls Are

Books: Some Girls Are by Courtney Summers
Source: Owned
Goal Progress: 22/52 books , 1/12 books I already own (This was a 1 in 2 book with Cracked up to Be)
Rating: 3/5

Man, girls are vicious. Do these things actually happen!? Still feeling a little meh on Courtney Summers books, they are so easy to read but there’s just something I don’t connect with.
