Book 19: Wayward Son

Book: Wayward Son by Rainbow Rowell
Rating: 2.5?/5

I kind of feel like nothing happened. Like, what was the point of the book? I enjoyed the addition of Shep. But the number of back and forth POVs got really annoying, especially when they didn’t add much and were mostly just repetitive. And I wanted more progress with the Baz/Simon relationship, it just stalled. Interested to see where the 3rd book goes though.

Book 18: Blurred Lines

Book: Blurred Lines by Lauren Layne
Rating: 1.5/5

I liked the first few chapters of the book where they were actually friends. But things kind of went off the rails when they started hooking up. It was a very one-track book, too, it was all about sex. Even the first conversations with her mom were about sex.

Book 16: Love Irresistibly

Book: Love Irresistibly by Julie James
Rating: 5/5

Had to bump this rating up on the re-read, I just love both Brooke and Cole so much and their relationship is so natural and easy. I also love their professional life, often I don’t enjoy the real lives of characters in romance novels because they feel so fake but their careers and friends were so interesting and really added to their personalities and the book.

Book 14: Prima Donna

Book: Prima Donna by Laura Drewry
Rating: 3.5/5

This was exactly what I expected it to be – which is a good thing! It was a little tropey, and I didn’t like the insta loveyness from Carter and the few weird macho comments. But the story flowed well and Reegan and Carter were both interesting and their relationship progressed at a realistic pace.
